You only find out how good a warranty offered on any piece of equipment is when you need repairs carried out during the warranty period.
How often have we heard “I’m sorry, but that isn’t covered by the warranty”
It is reasonable to assume that the shorter the warranty period, then the less confidence the vendor has in his product.
For example laptops are sometimes offered with a warranty that excludes the battery. If this is the case, then check out the price of a replacement battery and factor that into the purchase price.
It’s a fair bet that if the warranty doesn’t include the battery, it’s on it’s way out.
Better to know what a battery is going to cost if it fails, than get a nasty surprise if it does!
