You’ve just taken delivery of your new computer – here’s a checklist of things to consider before you decommission your old one.
- Back up all you personal data for transfer to the new computer
- Remember to back up emails, email accounts & email address book(s)
- Back up your Internet browser favourites
- Locate the disks for all the applications you use and need to reinstall
- Locate disks for any peripherals you need to reinstall – printer, scanner and any other devices you have connected to your computer
- Have all your Broadband connection details to hand – usernames & passwords
If you give a little thought to all the above points, your “swap over” should go smoothly.
If not, then you may have to reconnect your old computer to retrieve some missed data or contact your Internet Service Provider for connection details.
