As we use computers more and more, we end up with numerous passwords for various websites and other applications.
We need usernames and passwords to ensure our security, but we can end up with so many, we forget which password goes with a particular username – or we forget a password altogether.
So what’s the answer?
- We could just use the same password for every website – but that’s not really recommended.
- We could always ask the site to “Remember me” or “Keep me logged in” – again, not a good idea because anyone could then gain access to your personal details without even having to worry about a password!
OK – so what IS the answer?
A simple application called KeePass Portable.
KeePass Portable allows you to store all your usernames and passwords in one place and protect them with a master password or key-disk.
It’s that simple – all your passwords in one place and to access them, you only have to remember the master password.
And best of all – KeePass Portable can be installed onto a memory stick so you can take your passwords with you.
Oh yes! – forgot to mention – it’s free.
