Remember:
You DO NOT have to view the contents of any file or folder to back them up.
So if you are performing a back up there should be no reason for the files or folders to be viewed (unless you are unsure of the contents).
If someone is doing a back up for you, then they do not need to view the contents of files or folders unless they ask for your permission – after all, they are your personal files.
